Massage Chair- Great Stress Reliever

Do you need to relax after a long day at work? Many Americans come home and sit in from of the TV watching their favorite programs.

If you are one of us, then you should consider making that whole experience even better. If you got a massage chair you would have one of the best stress relievers right in front of the TV. Doesn?t that sound good? And massage chairs are fairly easy to get these days.

Massage chairs come in a variety shapes, colors and sizes. If you go to stores like Brookstone or Sharper image you can get an idea of what types of chairs are on the market. If I happen by Sharper Image, I usually take a look at the new models.

I even have a hard time getting my child out of the chairs. She thinks she should have one in her room. What a kid! You could get ones that hold your remote control or ones that have a place especially designed for holding a cup. That is perfect for a person who wants to sit back and watch the game on Sunday or relax one afternoon watching a movie.

If you find the right chair but the color is all wrong it doesn?t matter, there is probably one available in the color you are looking for, whether it is sea foam green or black.

Check the internet for the main dealers. There is also a chair for any budget. In fact, consider buying your chair online, there is a much greater selection available.

Once you have your chair in the perfect spot be careful, it is addictive and others will always try to steal your seat. So I recommend you go out and buy yourself a massage chair, it?s a great way to pamper yourself.

Why Choose A Human Touch Massage Chair?

After eight hours of hard work you feel as though your shoulders, neck, and back have been completely abused. What is the solution to this seemingly never-ending problem?and I don?t mean traveling back and forth to the chiropractor or massage therapist? A massage chair right in the comfort of your home, that gives you the feeling of human touch and can be used according to your time schedules, is the answer. But why the Human Touch massage chair?

Human touch massage chairs are built by Interactive Health and boast a multi-patented Human Touch Technology Massage System which provides massage in 3 dimensions in 4 different modes. This patented technology of the Human Touch massage chairs is also endorsed by the American College of Chiropractic Orthopedists.

Among the benefits of the Human Touch massage chair is the full recline that gives you the feeling of a therapeutic massage as if in a spa. This full recliner feature of 170 degrees is unique to many of the Human Touch family of massage chairs.
Other benefits of these chairs, depending on the model, include:

?Up to three pre programmed 15-minute massage sessions.

?Up to 170 degree power recline enabling full body stretching and power foot rest.

?This technology has a robot mechanism and integrated massage rollers that act like the strong arms, hands fists, fingers and thumbs of a trained massage therapist.

?Shoulder height adjustments are also available.

?A remote control that is easy to read and follow.

?These chairs have three dimensional movements along a unique track and contours its way up your neck to allow for more extensive pain relief.

?It also has three motors that thoroughly work the back and neck.

?They give a sensational 3 back massage and a penetrating neck massage and rotating multi speed calf and foot massage which is built in to the foot rest itself.

?Multi-speed calf and foot massager.

?Ergonomic headrest.

?Some of the chairs boast a 60 degree swivel.

The only drawbacks that I?ve seen of the Human Touch massage chairs included no heat feature, buttock or thigh massage, and nothing to address the arms (computers are the bane of the existence of our arms and wrists). The new HT-1650 massage chair model addresses all of these drawbacks?but you will pay for those features. On some of the less expensive models, I also wish that the vertical range of the massage tracks was a little longer, i.e. to reach further down the back.

Regardless of which model you contemplate, and any model-specific shortcomings, you will be rewarded with a massage that will leave you feeling taller, more flexible, and definitely immense relief from your constant joint and muscle pains.

They come with different weights and parts for the different areas of your body.

You do not need to be experiencing back pain to use a massage chair. You can use it any time, anywhere. No matter what type of work you do, you can use a massage chair. From laborers to business persons, everybody has some sort of tension or stress at some time. To get relief from this problem, massage chairs are the best option available today.

Always look for a strong, stable and easily adjustable massage chair. This will allow you to do changes, as everyone has a different type of body.

There are different types of massage chairs available in the market. The best suitable chair for personal as well as commercial use is a portable massage chair. These chairs are easy to use and easily movable. They are made of lightweight aluminum and should have an approximate weight of 20 pounds. Anyone can use portable massage chairs, as they are flexible in nature.

Another option is a desktop massage chair. This type of chair can be fitted in any desk, table or any flat surface. These are suitable for pregnant women or people who are unable to move without the aid of a wheelchair. The biggest advantage of a desktop massage chair is that you can use it anywhere. Some people like privacy, or you can use it at the office. They are very easy to carry.

You can reduce your tension and body pain by sitting in a massage chair. Operating a massage chair is very easy. You just have to click the button, and it will do its work automatically.

There are certain benefits of massage chairs, such as:

? They are designed to reduce tension and pain in the back or neck.
? With the help of a massage chair, your blood pressure will remain normal.
? They also increase the flexibility in your body.
? They come with different levels of massage, so you can adjust it according to your comfort level.
? They are also the sign of luxury and status.
? Anyone can use a massage chair, whether they are aged 80 or 5. They are not made for any specific age group.

Massage chairs not only work to give physical comfort, but also work on psychological factors of a person to give relaxation. The basic aim of massage chairs is to reduce tension, and make your mind and body relaxed and comforted.

New Technologies Make Massage Chairs a Viable Product for Families

Premier Health Products, a leading manufacturer of robotic massage chairs, now offers a new technology that allows users to customize the massage chair to fit their individual body size. This technology, coined BioFit Technology, makes owning a massage chair more feasible for households with members of drastically differing heights.

Premier has added BioFit technology to their recently released PHP-2025 stretch massage chair to boost summer sales, and compete with industry giant Panasonic (http://www.premiermassagechairs.org/massage-chair-2025.html.) Though Premier Health Products still feels that no single chair is best for all, BioFit technology makes the PHP-2025 a great choice for many. Combined with a multitude of top of the line features and an attractive price, once again we feel that Premier is a brand that should not be overlooked.

BioFit technology does just what it says, it adjusts the chair to fit the user's unique frame. Beyond the clever name, the technology itself is quite simple, yet effective. For years massage chair brands have been cashing in on body scanning technologies that tailor the massage to the users. But many of these body scanning systems measure width and contour and leave height out of the equation.

?We wanted to make a mid priced massage chair that was as versatile as our high end chairs for the price conscious user,? says Jon Campbell of http://www.premiermassagechairs.org/index.html. The result was the PHP-2025 complete with BioFit, the world?s first height programmable massage chair.

Taller users (over 6 feet) tend to need a massage chair with a longer stroke length to cover the range of their back and neck. The problem with this occurs when shorter users (under 5 feet 4 inches) sit in the same chair, the massage rollers spend too much time on the back of their heads and even above it. Not only is this a waste of the massage chair's extended abilities, but it can actually be uncomfortable for the user.

With BioFit users can manually program the PHP-2025 to any one of five different height settings. The chair then adjusts the length of the rolling stroke to an appropriate length for users of various heights, both short and tall.

As stated earlier, there is no one massage chair that is best for all, but if ever there was a massage chair that came close, the PHP-2025 with BioFit Technology is it. It is versatile, strong, attractive and affordable. Certainly a great addition to Premier Health Product?s line of massage chairs.

Your Massage Chair - You'll Wonder How You Ever Lived Without It

"Aching wrists, stiff neck and shoulders that feel like if somebody folded them" This is the phrase mostly used by any employee after 8 hours of hard work. It is obvious, that after whole day work you will surely experience the symptoms of work related fatigue. According to Palmer, founder of TouchPro Institute and co-developer of the first massage chair, most office-related mental and physical symptoms are mostly due to lack of blood and lymph circulation. Obstruction of lymph and blood flow is a result of sitting behind a desk all the day, which is not designed according to an individual's body requirements.

These types of workloads result in the lack of work energy, susceptibility to stress injuries and mental fogginess. A massage chair assists in maintaining better blood circulation that increases oxygen flow in blood and results in producing energy that keeps a person feel fresh all through out the day. Sitting in a massage chair relieves neck strain, provides a gentle break for your eyes and opens up the back muscles.

Even a very small span of chair massage to arms, hands, neck and back can increase blood circulation, enhancing energy levels thus keeping the body safe from repetitive injuries like carpal tunnel syndrome. According to Palmer "If you are using chair massage in a preventive manner, it will maintain your homeostatic balance, which precludes little problems from getting worse." This has already been proved by millions of clients and message therapy specialists.

Chair Massage should not be considered as a treatment or therapy but as a simple relaxation technique. This type of step makes chair massage more approachable to people not looking for life changing treatment and personal growth. The most important aspect is the price of the massage chair. Massage chairs are available in a variety of price ranges from $200(for beginning massage therapist) to $4500. Chair massage is now available in airports and shopping malls as well as in many corporate workplaces all over US and increasingly in Britain. It is an accessible and popular form of bodywork bringing the advantages of massage to people who might not otherwise experience it.

Here are some advantages of massage chair used for chair massage:

1) A Massage chair increases the nutrition of tissues by an increased exchange of materials and fluids. 2) Massage therapy chair produces a dilation of blood vessels, which help to increase your blood circulation. 3) A Massage therapy chair reduces the lack of blood and reduce pain due to irritation of nerves that control your blood circulation. 4) A Massage therapy chair enhances elimination of waste products of your metabolism. 5) All Massage chairs helps in reducing swelling and contusion. 6) Proven fact: Massage therapy chair lowers your blood pressure and reduces your pulse rate. 7) A Massage chair increases the number of red blood cells in your circulation. 8) A Massage chair increases tissue fluids and assist lymphatic circulation to reduce swelling and to enhance immune activities of the system. 9) A Massage chair increases both your venous and lymphatic flow. 10) Robotic massage chairs help relieve many forms of back pain and provide many countless health benefits.

You'll Never Guess What A Massage Chair Recliner Can Do For You!

Many of the benefits of the massage chair are the same benefits that are attributed to licensed massage therapy. Massage chairs boast of mimicking the hands of a massage therapist and, while a machine could not possibly fully imitate the hands of a true professional, there is much to be gained by using the functions of a massage chair.

Here is a partial list of health benefits derived from a massage recliner:

1. Deep relaxation and stress release (our guess is that you?ll fall asleep the first time you use a chair!).

2. Back and neck pain relief. Most of your body aches and pains come from the muscles. Address the muscles, as the massage chair does, and you will see less and less pain. I can attest to this benefit because our patients that purchase a massage chair usually end up coming into the office less; much of their pain has been alleviated by the chair's massage.

3. Relief of muscle tightness and stiffness (you?ll feel like ?putty? when you?re done).

4. Improved blood and lymph flow. Blood and lymph clean out your body of harmful toxins. Vigorously working the muscles will increase and enhance blood and lymph flow which will increase toxin removal from your body. This benefit has been known to positively affect blood pressure, too!

5. Improved healing. Improved blood flow will increase oxygen transport to your body tissues. You need oxygen to heal. If the blood flow is improved, oxygen levels will be optimized and your tissues will heal better and quicker.

6. Reduced muscle spasm. Similar to #3, if you?ve ever had a massage from a licensed massage therapist, you?ve noticed how good your muscles feel when you are done. Your massage chair will do the same thing. Not only do you get relief from tightness and stiffness in the muscles, but actual spasms will disappear.

7. Increased flexibility. Relax your muscles?and your movement will improve. Sometimes the effect is quite dramatic. Try bending over and touching your toes before you begin your massage chair session. Then, do it again afterwards. You?ll be quite surprised at how much better your movement will be!

8. Increased endorphin levels. Endorphins are your body?s own natural pain relievers. Exercise, chiropractic manipulation, and massage just happen to be three great ways to increase your endorphin levels. A massage chair will facilitate that as well.

9. Improved breathing. There is nothing like a massage chair to work the muscles around your rib cage.

You may even feel some ribs actually ?pop? back into place while you are on your chair. These tight muscles and ribs can restrict your ability to breathe and you may not have any idea that it is happening?until you get off the massage chair, that is! Try it?take a deep breath after a session and see if your breathing is deeper and easier.

10. Improved posture. Many people who suffer musculo-skeletal pain have poor posture. The most common posture seen in a chiropractor?s office, for example, is the forward head carriage and extra-rounded rib cage (the ?slouched? look). This posture is devastating on all the support muscles, ligaments, and bones. A massage chair will help to reverse that posture. After a massage chair session, you will feel as though you are standing straighter. Do it everyday and those changes will seem to last longer and longer.

11. Prevention of degenerative arthritis. This benefit links to the posture problem. Poor posture results in poor loading of the body relative to gravity which, in turn, will result in degenerative arthritis. In other words, when your posture is bad, gravity wears you down a lot quicker. Changing your posture and the way your muscles and ligaments function will change the abnormal loading of your body which, in turn, will slow down the process of arthritis in your spine! You won?t fully appreciate this until you?re over 40 and you begin to discover new aches and pains that you can?t figure out where they came from. Do what you can, today, to prevent that from happening. You certainly don?t want to look even more hunched over as you get older, do you?

12. General feeling of well-being. You can?t improve muscle function, blood and lymph flow, endorphin levels, and your posture without feeling better generally. Feeling better will, in turn, improve your overall attitude. People that are in pain and discomfort have a harder time feeling ?up? and motivated. It is truly amazing to see how different a person can look just by being pain-free. It almost seems like their whole countenance changes when they are feeling better. And that can affect so many other areas of your life.

Massage Chairs ? When You Can?t Afford Your Own Masseuse

There are many types of massage chairs on the market and if you?ve never sat in one, you should. If nothing else, go to a mall or furniture store where these chairs are displayed and give it a try - and then just try to pretend that you don?t want one. Having your very own massager whose fingers never get tired may simply be too much to turn down.

While massage chairs are pretty great for relieving everyday tension, they are ever better for people who have frequent back pain. Many use some type of massage chair to relieve tension and to keep the back feeling good. If you let pressure and strain build up in your muscles, it will become harder to do everyday things. For example, if you have a really tight muscle in your back, it may be difficult to stretch, bend all the way over, or perform other routine movements. Message chairs can help you to relieve that tension, thereby helping you do a million other things without the nagging pain so many people have come to accept as ?normal.?

Think you don?t have time to utilize a massager of this kind? Maybe you don?t have time not to. Consider this situation. You come home from a long, hard day at work just to realize that you still need to do laundry, cook dinner, do the dishes, and get the kids to bed. If may be overwhelming. But if you take a few minutes as a breather, it can help to get things back into perspective. A few minutes in massage chairs is just one way to do just that. And unlike flopping down on the couch for a few minutes, you are much more likely to feel a little better physically when you get back up.

Many people have so much stress that it is actually hard to sleep at night. One way that many people cope with this is through pain relievers. This may be okay for the short term, but natural remedies are always a better alternative. One way that you may help yourself relax is with massage chairs. And the more you use them, the better your back will begin to feel. Just imagine how you could feel in a week if you got a massage every night.

Everyone has likes and dislikes when it comes to a massage. Even though massage chairs are only machines, there are alternatives for everyone. If you don?t like your massage to be very firm, you can turn this down on most models. Also, you can make most models concentrate more or less on certain areas of your back.

The Rising Popularity Of The Massage Chair

Available to the retail market beginning in the 1980's, massage chairs are finally becoming one of the most popular home therapy products on the market. These chairs were developed to provide the benefits of massage therapy to the home user on a regular basis. Also, by being placed in one?s home, it affords a great deal of convenience.

Massage therapy has been used for centuries to treat pain, help with relaxation. Massage is also credited with boosting the body?s immune system through the stimulation of reticular cells. Like a traditional massage, the massage chair is designed to reduce tension, reduce headaches, relax muscles and alleviate pain. Massage chairs are thought to help sufferers of digestive problems, circulation problems, and chronic fatigue.

Earlier models of massage chairs were not very effective. But as technology developed, the mechanisms became more realistic and reliable. While a massage chair may not be able to simulate the total therapeutic benefits of a massage by hand, at the very least, it provides massage motions that are consistent. Some people even say that the electronic massage is in fact better as the motions never tire and they are delivered in a rhythmic and regular fashion.

With the advent of improved technology, today?s massage chairs can be customized and programmed to meet the user?s individual needs. Programs pinpointing problem areas and allowing choice of firmness are becoming standard, and the choice of mechanisms also varies widely. Some feature popular shiatsu style kneading action, while others employ vibration and rollers to achieve that ?ooh, ahh? sensation.

With increased technology and rising consumer demand, the price of good quality massage chairs should continue to drop. This will result in a massage chair becoming more affordable to more families. In time to come, perhaps, the massage chair will no longer be considered a luxury item.

Massage Chairs Offer Relief from Obesity Related Back Pain

According to the American Obesity Society 64.5 percent of Americans over twenty years old are overweight and 30.5 percent are obese. These figures represent the growing epidemic of obesity in the United States which is costing billions of dollars in additional health care expenses. Each year, increasing numbers Americans are finding themselves classified as clinically obese and are suffering from one or more of over thirty obesity related diseases. Premier Massage Chairs .org www.premiermassagechairs.org offers natural solutions for a variety of obesity related health problems.

The most serious obesity related health complications are coronary heart disease, diabetes and high blood pressure. Another, less discussed obesity related health complication, is back pain. Increased occurrence of back pain in obese people is caused by the added strain on the spine from excess body weight. The body is designed to function under healthy weight conditions combined with regular exercise. Obesity however creates stressful conditions that the spine is unable to adapt too. Added weight causes the spine to increase its natural curve causing the pelvis to tip forward. This compensation decreases the structural stability of the spine causing overall back health to decline.

Some of the more common obesity related spinal problems are osteoporosis, osteoarthritis and rheumatoid Arthritis. Osteoporosis decreases bone density, increasing the likelihood of painful and disabling fractures. The risk of osteoporosis is increased with lack of exercise and a poor diet. Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are caused by unnatural pressure placed on the joints from excess body weight. Massage chairs are an excellent means for relieving this pressure and improving over all back health www.premiermassagechairs.org/education.html.

The most effective way to help relieve obesity related back problems is to lose weight. Even loosing just ten or fifteen pounds can greatly improve spinal health. Massage therapy is another useful way to reduce back pain. Massage stimulates blood circulation, increasing the flow of healing nutrients to the joints and muscles, as well as helping the body flush pain causing lactic acids and other toxins from sore muscles.

Electric massage chairs are an affordable way to receive the pain relieving benefits of massage therapy. Massage chairs can help fibromyaligia

E.ScottThe growing massage chair health trend.

How many of you have noticed the growing trend in malls, airports, train stations, department and specialty stores and maybe even your best friends home of the Massage Chair? They seem to be everywhere now days and are almost always in use. People of all ages are feeding the plush vending chair dollar bills like a pleasure giving video game.

This new health trend is sweeping Japan, Europe and has now infiltrated the U.S. with dozens of models and price ranges from a few hundred to several thousand dollars. A recent LA Times article describes them as not your fathers La-z-boy and that, is an understatement for sure.

Websites like http://www.massagechairoutlet.com are popping up all over the internet touting massage strength, air compression, rolling, kneading, tapping and shiatsu style massage.

If any of you have had a shiatsu style massage its similar to getting rolled in a dark ally by a couple of roadhouse bouncers taking out their frustrations on your back. But man do you feel better the next day.

Not surprisingly massage as a health practice has been around for thousands of years. It was actually massage that lead to the advent of acupressure and acupuncture in the Far East as early as 6000 BC and has been continually refined ever since.

Medical professionals have pointed out that there exists a particular type of cell under the skin. This cell normally sits dormant, however when kneaded or massaged, this cell becomes stimulated. Once awakened, this cell enters the bloodstream and develops into a reticular cell, which can remarkably strengthen the body's immune functions and boost the disease-resisting abilities of the human body.

Todays massage chairs, through computer technology, can actually sense the size and shape of each individuals back and apply varying degrees and types of massage to acupressure points on the users back, neck, legs and even foot to produce an amazingly human like massage.

Stimulation of these acupressure points has been shown to help with: Digestion, Insomnia, Headaches, Circulation, Fatigue, Muscle Cramping, Fibromyaligia and may even effect endorphin levels producing an elevated emotional state, which is what usually happens when I get a massage, even a poor one.

Having tried several of the massage chairs found on the above internet site I can say that this new massage chair trend is probably here to stay. Its much like the TV, microwave and now cell phones. Once you have one, its hard to imagine life without it.

It won?t take long for a user to find the positions that are the most comfortable. Some recliner chair lifts have a memory button. Once you find a position you like, easily program it into the remote control. Whenever you want to return to that position, push that button on the controller.

Most reclining lift chairs have a motor. With the touch of a button, you can move the chair from a sitting position to a full upright position. This process takes place at a speed that is comfortable for any individual. Once you are in a full upright position, you can walk away from the chair, or even use your walker. When you are ready to sit down, simply stand against the chair. Using the control buttons, it will slowly take you from a standing to sitting position. Most reclining lift chairs have a wider seat than most recliners, to allow for easier use.

Reclining lift chairs are designed with a safety mechanism that prevents the recliner from tipping while you are changing positions. The chairs also feature a fully reclined position that allows for comfortable sitting and sleeping in the chair. This type of reclining chair is used by individuals who have arthritis, aches and pains, and who find moving from one position to another painful. They also have a backrest that offers the user added support. Many models come with a footrest that raises slightly higher to provide comfort and improve leg circulation.

Power lift recliner chairs are the top of the line in reclining chairs. They are very comfortable, and often blend in with the d?cor of your living room. Power lift recliner chairs come in many colors and fabrics to choose from, allowing the user of the lift chair to select one that meets their individual preferences. Leather lift recliner chairs are very popular, coming in a variety of colors including black, brown, and tan.

For individuals who experience difficulty getting from a sitting to standing position and back again, the reclining lift chair is a excellent investment. Users report that they are able to move around freely again with the use of a reclining lift chair. It is recommended for anyone who experiences problems with mobility, as well as the elderly. This type of reclining lift chair can help prevent falls from occurring.

Your physician can recommend a recliner lift chair that is right for your individual needs. You can also speak with an expert at a retailer that sells such lift chairs. They can help you try out several models to find the model and the material that is the perfect match for you.

What To Look For When Choosing A Riser Recliner Chair

If you suffer from mobility problems such as arthritis and back pain, and spend a lot of time in an armchair, you may find it difficult to get in and out of your chair. A rise and recline chair can assist you.

Electric lift chairs rise up so that the user just needs stay almost stood up, and then perch on the edge of the chair and then use the handset to lower the chair into the right seating position. Depending on the model of chair, the footrest will come up automatically so that the body and legs are correctly supported. When you want to get out of the chair, simply use the handset to raise the chair to the standing position again, and get off. Some models of electric lift chair have a back that reclines far enough so that you can safely snooze on it. Riser recliner chairs are also of proven benefit to those with medical conditions such as arthritis and circulation problems. There are manual reclining chair models which as the name suggests are operated by hand rather than electricity. The manual chair has a lever on the side which operates the chair. These might not be suitable for some people, depending on their needs.

The nature of the disability is likely to play a part in deciding which lift chair to choose. A very supportive back rest may be a requirement. The user will need to be able to use and understand the controls. Depending on the model of riser recliner chair, there may be only two buttons on the handset; one to raise the chair, and the other to lower it. If the chair has two individual motors and a heat and massage function, there may be several buttons for the user to learn.

There are different styles and makes and models of mobility chair, ranging from manually operated reclining chairs through to very luxurious chairs that offer many features such as leather upholstery, additional pockets and heat and massage units. Mobility chairs are available in various colours of upholstery, and so you should be able to find a colour that fits in with your existing d?cor. Leather or leather?look upholstery can be kept clean easier than other upholstery, and might be more appropriate. Some models of rise and recline chairs come with matching settees or other furniture so that your front room furniture matches.

As people are different sizes, rise recliner chairs come in different sizes too. The chair that offers the most comfort and convenience to a petite person probably won?t provide the same level of comfort to somebody who is very tall, and vice versa. It is important to ensure that you get the right size of chair for you, as the wrong chair can do you more harm than good.

The rise and recline chair will usually have one or two motors. If the footrest raises or lowers with the backrest, then there is one motor. If the backrest and footrest operate independently, there are two motors. Models with two motors are usually more expensive, but offer more positions so that you can find your ideal seating position. Depending on the user?s needs, the legs or back may need to be at a certain position, which a single motor chair might not provide.

Modern lift chairs are very reliable and most models even come with a battery back up feature so that user is not stuck in the event of a power cut. The battery will power the chair for two or three lifts only, but will ensure that the user is not left sitting in the incorrect position, and is not stranded. Safety is also very important, so particular attention needs to be paid so that children and others do not play with the rise and recline chair. There is usually a substantial guarantee with mobility chairs, and some manufacturers offer a 5 year warranty.

The location of the riser recliner chair is important. The chair will need to be positioned near a power socket, and the back needs to well away from the wall so that when the backrest is fully reclined it doesn?t touch the wall. If the chair is too near the wall and the back is reclined, the back might not stop when it hits the wall, and so the motor will burn out, which obviously won?t be covered by the manufacturer?s guarantee. If the chair is to face a television or other focal point, it is advisable to do this whilst the chair is being set up. Once the chair is set up it is quite difficult to move, especially to a different room, as the back needs to be taken off which can be quite complicated.

Hopefully you will now know what sort of things to consider when choosing a riser recliner chair, and what sort will suit your needs.

Should You Invest In A Massage Recliner?

A massage recliner is being advertised. You would love to be the person in the image, the person that gets to come home, sit down in the chair and just melt away all of the stresses from the day. Yet, as a smart consumer, you also realize the importance of paying attention to what you are purchasing. The question is, then, is a massage recliner really something that can improve your life? There are many times when this answer is yes! But, to get to that, you?ll need to understand a bit more about these units.

Most massage recliners are designed to be a recliner style chair that is comfortable just to sit in. But, when you turn it on, you may find that it has a vibration to it which occurs due to the electric motors that are within it. In addition, some offer heating elements that will gently apply heat to your body as you relax. Most importantly for a massage chair is the ability to provide you with some tool that will move over you back and legs to generate a massage like feel. Usually these are plastic rollers.

A massage recliner will provide several key benefits to you. First, they are a good tool for stress reduction. They also can help your muscles to improve and repair from what you?ve put them through over the course of the day. In addition, many offer benefits like increasing the circulation of your blood and pain relief techniques.

When purchasing one, take the time to test them out to insure that they provide the overall experience that you are looking for. A mid range price is usually the best way to go. The massage recliner that?s specifically designed for your body?s needs is the one you really want to find.

Looking For A Massage Recliner

Who would not want own a massage recliner? These can be one of the most inviting things to come home to. They can have many benefits and advantages. You would be able to just come home kick off your shoes flip a switch and work those troubles away while you sit. To just sit and relax and slowly have the troubles of your day worked away through your massage chair. What a wonderful feeling. However it is not necessarily that easy. Many times these chairs are very pricey and they do not fulfill the potential that you believe them to have. There is a huge difference between having someone?s hands working themselves over your back and body and sitting in a chair that vibrates. Yes you will receive some benefit from using a massage recliner there is no doubt, but does it really stand up to the benefits that are attached to having a full blown massage not usually.

However something is better than nothing and who is going to complain about having a massage recliner at their disposal. There are alternatives to buying the whole chair however. You can always go and purchase and electronic massage mat. This little piece of equipment does not carry the price tag of a recliner; however it carries many of the benefits of one. Many times the only thing that you need to do with the mat is place it on the chair or couch and use its settings and adjustments to massage your areas of need. Many of these have controls that will allow you to have varying speeds and areas of the bodies to be worked on. It may even contain a heater to both soothe and massage your aching body. Many of these benefits are available in a massage chair as well and can be used to focus in one area or another as well. Your chair can be a blessing to you if you look forward to using it everyday and feel the true benefits that it can provide for you when you are using it. However your chair is not going to give you the attention and personal interaction that you would receive from a real massage.

When looking to get a massage recliner one should do some comparison shopping. Many of the recliners will carry the same features with large variances in the price. Look into reading evaluations on the various products that you are considering to purchase. Think about where you will put it in your house. Look at what the different specialties are as opposed to the bare minimum models and see which is going to offer the best value for your buck. Think about your needs and how much stress and strain that you have that will need attention on a daily basis to help you to determine the needs that you have in your massage recliner. Just remember to research and investigate to determine which the best product is for you and for the long run.

Home Theater Recliners or Reclining Chairs - Enjoy a Laidback Experience

What better way to enjoy your home theater system, than from a relaxing home theater chair?

Home theater recliners or reclining chairs are chairs that push back into a lounging position so that you can rest your head and put up your feet. Enhance your home theater viewing experience by adjusting the recliners or reclining chairs anywhere between sitting upright to fully reclined. Recliners or reclining chairs are now available with a whole range of features that provide comfort, convenience and style.

Reclining home theater chairs are either manual or automatic. In a manual recliner, the reclining mechanism is activated by pulling the lever and pushing the back of the chair. Most manual recliners may be reclined at two or three positions. The footrest can be similarly activated too. If that seems like too much work, automatic recliners are just what you want! A button or a pull chord or better still a simple push on the arm rests does the trick. These recliners provide the luxury of infinite reclining positions in the given range.

In addition to reclining, you may also opt for recliners that offer back and forth rocking and also swiveling.

There is more to recliner chairs than just reclining. Many recliners have storage space for magazines and remotes and built-in conveniences like cup holders and trays. For those who feel guilty about just lying down for hours pick recliners with built-in massager.

Special features include chaise-style recliners that support you from head-to-toe. Wall hugging recliners are a boon for those of you who want to maximize utility of space. For the ?not-so-young? who could do with some help in sitting down or standing up, there are lift recliners. Lift recliners have an electric motor, which raises the seat to a nearly vertical position. Most of the lift recliners have battery backup. Bigger-sized home theater chairs with heavy-duty frames are available for the larger folks.

Recliner home theater seats are generally designed as individual units with modular arms that can be joined to form a variety of combinations to create straight or curved rows, or a fully reclining loveseat or sofa by removing the armrests or just single chairs.

When compared to other types of home theater chairs, reclining seats may be more expensive, but the comfort sure is unparalleled!!

A Relaxing Massage Recliner

Massage recliners are becoming very popular. With so many people who are overworked and having muscles that are over used whether full of stress or fatigue, massage recliners are becoming a great way to relieve these problems.

Once hard to find, massage recliners have become so much more popular that they are available in most home furnishing stores. And, with this popularity and ease of finding comes a smaller price. Many massage recliners are less expensive than even a few years ago.

In fact, you can even find a massage recliner chair in your local mall with a quarter slot as an adult version of those merry go rounds for kids. Massage recliners are machines designed to eliminate stress and allow the body to relax. Now, if you are on your lunch break, getting your nails done, eating a power lunch, whatever, you can take a quick break for a couple of quarters and relax in a massage chair. How convenient is that?

Besides being so popular, massage recliners have many useful features as well. One of the most advanced models, the shiatsu massage recliner, is a top of the line massage recliner. These chairs give a massage equivalent to that of a professional. They are virtually silent and have built in acupressure point massage features to get just the right spot. Not only do these massage recliners massage your back, but they have built in features that knead your calf and foot. This provides the ultimate massage. To make it one of the most stylish models available, the Shiatsu massage recliner is also made of fine Italian leather.

So, when looking to purchase a great new massage chair, consider the features it offers and the needs you wish to be met. Shiatsu massage recliners are a definite option, but because of their high quality and top of the line materials, they may be a costly option. Other, less expensive models are available in home furnishing stores nationwide and all allow for a great way to relax after a long day at work. If you are lucky, your local mall will offer a massage recliner as a means of relaxation anywhere!

You& ll Never Guess What A Massage Chair Recliner Can Do For You!

Back Support Seating - A Zero Gravity Recliner Is The Perfect Back Support Seating Solution

Proper back and neck support is important in all aspects of life - sleeping, standing, lifting, and sitting. It is especially important for people who suffer from back and neck pain. But what about the times when you are not sleeping, standing, lifting, or sitting? What about when you are relaxing?

Lounging in a chair or on the couch does not relieve the pressure placed on your back. In fact, it adds to the pressure on your back and neck. It is not practical to sit upright in an ergonomic office chair or to stand in your living room when you are relaxing after dinner or reading a novel.

One solution to this problem is a zero gravity recliner. A zero gravity chair is ergonomically designed to recline to a point where stress on the spine is relieved.

Zero gravity recline is a technique that was developed by NASA to minimize force exerted on astronauts' spines during takeoff. In an upright position, either standing or sitting, gravity places pressure on the spine. This causes the discs to compress and muscles to contract to maintain balance. When gravity is neutralized, back muscles rest and the discs return to their normal size and shape.

Zero gravity recliners extend the lower legs above the heart to achieve this neutralized gravity effect on the back. This results in:

  • correct spinal alignment
  • reduced pressure on the back
  • less muscle tension
  • less pressure on the heart
  • better circulation

The zero gravity position is also referred to as the "90/90" position because of the right angles formed at the hips and knees. This puts you spine in the correct resting position where it forms an S-curve. In this position almost all pressure on the lower back is eliminated.

Look for a zero gravity chair that reclines smoothly and returns to an upright position easily. Zero gravity recliners often come with adjustable headrests and neck rolls. Also consider a chair that includes built-in massage. Other features include a lumbar pillow, power recline, adjustable footrest, and memory foam cushioning.

Power Recliners - What is a Power Recliner Lift Chair?

Power recliners are just another name for lift chair recliners. They are designed for those needing assistance getting in and out of the seated position. Power recliners are made to look like a typical mechanical recliner but use electric motors to recline the chair back and lift a person up to a standing position. All this is done with the click of a button. Regardless of the word or term used to define this medical device, the fact is they are perfect for people with back, knee, hip and/or joint problems; someone who just had surgery; or for people that just do not have the strength to work a manual recliner. This article focuses on explaining the difference between the three available power recliner positions, so that readers are better educated in the purchasing process.

Depending on a user’s needs, power recliners come in many variations. The first type is the two position chair. Depending on the manufacture, most two position recliners are the lower costing entry point into the market. Costing less than three position and infinite position recliners, the goal is to provide the necessary requirements to lift a person in and out of a chair at the lowest price possible. They typically recline to a 45 degree position suitable for watching TV. Sleeping in a two position power recliner may be difficult for a person if they require a more flat sleeping surface.

If a person needs more flexibility with their power recliner, one can opt for a three position lift chair. These lift chair recliners have all the options and features of a two position recliner but lay further back and more suitable for occasional naps than the two position recliner. Like the two position recliner, the back and legs move into position at the same time. Meaning there is one motor that moves the legs up and reclines the chair back at the same time. Either way, both a two position and three position power recliner will safely provide support for getting in and out of a chair.

If three position power recliners lack flexibility, one can step up to the more versatile and expensive infinite position recliner. Gaining more bells and whistles, the primary difference is the number of motors. Two and three position lift chairs have one motor to do everything limiting flexibility and precise position selecting. An infinite position recliner has two motors, one to raise the foot section and another to recline and lift the recliner. An example why one would want an infinite position recliner over others types of lift chairs would be someone needing to operate the feet section independently of the back. This allows one to raise the feet leaving the chair seated in the upright position more suitable for eating and reading.

Understanding the difference between these three power recliner position types and at the same time knowing the users requirements, one will have a better experience purchasing the best power lift chair and enjoy it for many years to come. To learn more about the technical details and position descriptions of a power recliner, and how to choose the chair that is right for you, please read more at power recliner positions.

Lift Recliners - How To Choose The Best Lift Chair Recliner

In today's internet market, lift recliner manufactures are developing products that are internet friendly. Meaning retailers and manufactures of lift recliner chairs are able to provide well manufactured and quality web sites to help consumers pick their perfect lift recliner without leaving the comfort of their homes. Consumers are spending more time researching and learning about products that can help them regain mobility. The only problem is the lack of information to help consumers make the right decisions. In this article, consumers will learn the best way to go about picking and buying their perfect lift recliner chair.

Sizing a lift recliner to fit the person is absolutely necessary to ensure the chair fits a users needs. If the lift recliner is not sized properly, it could be a very costly mistake and leave the consumer with an improperly fitting lift chair recliner.

There are 3 major factors to consider when sizing a lift recliner. Everyone is made differently with different shapes and sizes. It is very important to have a lift recliner that fits the owner’s size and frame. Manufactures today are making lift recliners in every size possible. From petite to the big and tall, no matter what size or shape a person may be, there is a lift recliner to meet their needs.

Most lift recliner manufactures will recommend an electric recliner by height. Models are defined in size ranges. For example, one of the most popular lift recliners on the market is the Pride LL-570. The reason this electric recliner is so popular is because it is recommend for someone within the range of 5-5 to 6-0 foot. So have the owner or users height available when choosing the right lift recliner.

The second variable when choosing a lift recliner is the seat dimensions. People have different sizes and shaped gluteus maximus’s. Yes, that is correct, making sure the lift recliner fits the length and width of a persons tush is required to ensure one feels comfortable while sitting in their lift recliner. One can measure the width of their tush by sitting down and measuring from hip to hip. Measure in a few areas and choose the larger number for best comfort. Record this number and have it ready when researching potential lift recliners.

The last factor in choosing the best lift recliner is the weight of the person that will be using the electric recliner. It is very important to select a lift recliner chair that has the ability to lift the person under the recommend weight. Most manufactures will document the maximum weight capacity to help determine the best recliner lift chair. So have the user’s weight ready when sizing the proper lift recliner.

Whether one were to choose to order online or over the phone, having this information ready will better ensure the best lift recliner will be purchased. Happy lift recliner hunting.

Recliner Slipcovers - Discover How They Can Change Your Decor

Recliner slipcovers have so many benefits, but one of them is how they can turn a room that was drab and stale into one that is colorful and vibrant. While the main purpose of any furniture slipcover is to protect the upholstery, they also have other side effects as well.

When you visit any furniture retail store, you're sure to find all kinds and types of furniture. From couches, sofa-sleepers, recliners, dining room chairs, etc., you'll find anything you could want. What you won't find, however, is a big choice in fabrics or patterns. You're limited in most of these choices.

This is where slipcovers can be the perfect solution to this dilemma. In fact, I personally have an old la-z-boy recliner slipcover myself that I've used for years. It's not only helped hide the worn fabric, but it has livened up my family room.

Yes, you have the option of going out and having your furniture reupholstered, but be prepared for the cost. Buying new furniture is even more expensive.

Buying recliner slipcovers can give you the protection you're wanting, along with a new look at a fraction of the cost. For $25-$50 you can get a slip cover to fit any chair you have.

They come in all colors and fabrics to suit any taste. From cotton to denim and many others. You'll find what you're looking for. As for keeping them clean, you'll find you can usually machine wash any slip cover in most circumstances. Materials such as linen can be cleaned at any local dry cleaners. This makes things so convenient.

If for some reason you have difficulty in finding just what you want, consider making your own custom slipcovers. With only some basic abilities in sewing patterns, you can easily make your own covers in whatever style and material you choose. It makes for some enjoyment and personal satisfaction.

All you need to do is get the basic dimensions of your recliner and decide upon a fabric and design. Next, you'll cut out the pattern, stitch it together and you're done! It really is that simple.

Whichever route you choose to go, adding recliner slipcovers to your favorite chairs may be what you've been looking for.

Recliner Slipcovers - How They Can Enhance Any Room

Not only can recliner slipcovers dress up that favorite old recliner of yours, but they can also enhance the beautiful appearance of any room.

Most of the various furniture makers have a limited amount of different patterns or fabrics for their furniture. Whether it's a recliner, couch, loveseat, dining room chairs, etc., our choices are often limited.

This is where slipcovers can really make a splash. I have used a la-z-boy recliner slipcover for my own favorite chair. What a difference it made. With the high cost of reupholstering, or the expense of new furniture, this option was perfect.

The costs for recliner slipcovers are very affordable for everyone. For less than $50 you will be able to add one to any size chair in your home. They come in all colors and materials. Clean up is as simple as putting them in your washing machine in most cases.

Another option is to design and make your own custom slipcovers. If you have some basic sewing skills you may find this to be quite fun and simple.

By measuring the dimensions of your recliner, selecting the style and pattern of material you want, you can simply cut it out and stitch it together.

So, if you still love that favorite recliner, but need to give it a new look, recliner slipcovers can be the perfect solution.

Child Recliner Chairs - Where is the One I Want?

If you have been shopping for a child recliner chair then you know that the choices are few. Recliner chairs for adults come in hundreds of styles, colors and fabrics. So, why is it that I can only get a recliner for my son or daughter in a handful of styles and colors?

The child furniture industry has only really started to expand in the last few years. Until then, woodworkers who would create rocking chairs or picnic tables for their children or grand children were one of the only sources for kid furniture. Some of these same woodworkers started making reclining chairs. Usually they would create a wooden template for the chair and would produce this one style. As these chairs caught on they would expand by covering their chair with different fabrics, but rarely did they go to the trouble of creating a completely new template for another style of recliner.

The Internet has made it easier for small child recliner producers to find customers. As demand for these chairs grew, some of these smaller shops sold their patterns to larger manufacturers. Others expanded their production and have become bigger producers of kid furniture. Many are still making only one or two styles of kid recliner chairs.

Internet purchasers need cost effective delivery of these recliner chairs. This too limits style choices, as manufacturers need to be certain that there chairs will fit in boxes and have weights that allow affordable shipping.

Larger retailers have recently started to demand and purchase more variety in the child recliner lines. Fabric choices have increased significantly and the selection of colors available is superb. Style choices still lag, as manufacturers battle to keep costs low, however.

If you are having trouble finding the child recliner you are looking for, send me an email at craig@wcteam.com. I have been searching for new recliners for years and will let you know if what you want is available.

Your Child Recliner Has Grape Jam on It!

Caring for a child recliner is a simple matter. There are a few things that you can do to make your child’s recliner last for years.

There are two things that you should consider when you first receive your child recliner. First is the fabric type. If you have a cloth type recliner you will want to consider applying a scotch-guard type product to the recliner before allowing kids to use it. Scotch-guard can protect the fabric from minor stains and spills. It’s easy to find, easy to apply and inexpensive. You can get fabric protector from any supermarket and most of the superstores that abound. Applying the fabric protector is simply a matter of spraying the product onto the chair and letting it dry. If you have vinyl, faux-leather or micro-fiber cover on your recliner then there is no need to apply fabric protection, as these covers do a good job of resisting stains and spills.

The second thing you should look at is how difficult it is to raise the footrest in your recliner. The footrest controls the reclining mechanism and on occasion can be too tight for your child to raise on their own. To correct this, place a drop or two of oil on the hinge joints. Some hinges are hidden behind a fabric or plastic covering. This covering can usually be pulled back easily to allow access to the hinges. In most recliners there is no covering on the hinges and applying oil is a simple matter.

Ah, but what do you do when little Johnny spills that Hawaiian Punch all over the chair? Well, if you’ve applied your fabric protection, then most of the spill will glide right over the material and make it all the way to the floor. In this case, just use a damp rag to wipe down the chair. Let dry and you should be in business. However, if the spill has soaked into the cover, then I recommend using one of the little steam cleaning tools that are now available. If you don’t have one of these, then use carbonated water with a rag. The carbonation in the water brings out the stain, allowing you to wipe most of it up. Be sure to let the recliner dry fully after a soaked in spill. The foam underneath the covering can become wet and may need some extra time to dry.

With a little prevention your child recliner should make it through your child’s formative years and will be a great source of pride and joy.

Why Not Try a Zero-Gravity Recliner

If you've ever had a doc say, your back will feel better if you lie on the floor and put your feet in a chair, I've got some good news for you.

You can't see TV very well in that floor position, but you can buy a very comfortable chair that accomplishes doc's orders at stores all over the country.

It's called a "zero gravity recliner" because it reclines to the same position as lying on the floor with feet in chair, only without the hassle or TV deprivation. Honestly, there are recliners that do not stress the back, in fact HELP THE BACK, for most people, and they're easy to find.

Why does this chair make a difference? Just as docs have been suggesting for years, the back is better if you get your feet above your heart because in addition to helping circulation, this position also helps the back.

When the knees do some of the work of supporting the body in a "zero gravity chair", there are few to no pressure points on the back.

Your back feels better, sometimes very quickly, because you have eliminated the pressure on the point where you have been hurting.

This is not rocket science, it's logical and even better readily available. More good news: you can buy either a manual or a motorized version, so it works for most everyone.

My personal experience is very positive. I had regular lower back pain and sometimes my back would simply "go out", and I'd be in bed a few days.

Now I spend about 20-30 minutes in the chair listening to the news, (who can watch it these days) in the full zero gravity recline position. After that I can come up in the chair to a good position for watching TV and still be doing a great thing for my back.

Zero gravity is virtually pressure-point free for your back and half-way up is still very supportive and healthy allowing for diminishing back pain. Try it, you'll like it.

For 10 years I have been an ergonomic consultant and have been helping people achieve a better back. I hope you like the articles and will click on the ads, which are full of good information about helping achieve a better back. Working in this field has taught me a great deal about the causes, treatments, and products which can help one have a better back and/or neck, shoulders, etc. In this blog I hope to learn from you, as well as give you the benefit of my years of helping people help themselves to get and maintain a better back.

Child Recliner - Constructed with Love

Child size recliners have become a very popular gift over the past few years. I currently have over 500 of these recliners in over 2-dozen styles ready for the holiday season. But how do these great chairs come into being?

I recently took a trip to visit several manufacturers of kid recliners. These manufacturers come in varying sizes, from shops with only a handful of employees to full blown factories with hundreds of workers. Surprisingly, the child recliners were all made in a similar fashion, regardless of the size of the manufacturer.

Let’s start from the beginning. At some point each of these manufacturers decided to build child recliners. They all have someone, usually the owner in smaller shops, who creates patterns for anything they’re going to create. This person probably took an adult recliner, ripped it apart and created miniature patterns for the child recliner. Two sets of patterns are created, one for the material and another for the wooden frame.

The material is then cut to the pattern. Imagine metal tables laid out end to end for 50 feet. Fabric is rolled out across these tables. Because time is money, the fabric is laid out 10 to 20 layers thick and cut to the pattern all at once. The pattern is laid out on top of the fabric and marked with chalk. To make the cut, an electric or air driven knife is used that resembles the electric knife you would use to cut up a turkey on Thanksgiving.

Once the fabric is cut, it goes to the sewing station. The factories I visited all had row upon row of sewing stations set up. The smallest shop had 10 stations while the largest had closer to 100. The pre-cut fabric is sewn together leaving various holes so that the fabric can be put onto the chair and the padding can be inserted.

While the fabric is being prepared, another set of craftsmen are creating the frames. Depending on the chair, they are cutting either hard wood or plywood based on the previously created patterns. They use table saws, band saws and various other saws to shape the wood. Everything is done using stop blocks created long ago to speed the process. Once the wood is cut to pattern, it is combined with a pre-purchased lift mechanism using several techniques depending on the quality and cost of the chair. Staple gun, gang nail, air gun and screws are all used to hold the frame together.

At this point the frame and fabric are combined. The fabric is stretched over the frame and tacked or stapled into place. Usually a combination of tacking and stapling is used. Tacking can create some nice effects in visible areas, while stapling is the standard and used anywhere people won’t see.

Once the fabric is attached to the chair, the chair is stuffed with fiber foam. The foam is blown in using a special machine. You can view something very similar at any Build-A-Bear™ workshop.

Some final stitching is done to close up the hole where the stuffing entered and voila, a fantastic child recliner is born. It is then wrapped in a plastic bag and put in a specially sized both, ready for delivery.

The Benefits of Massage Recliner Chairs

Massage recliner chairs are different than traditional home recliners. These innovative chairs offer a wide range of options for massages and comfort. Although they can be rather expensive, many people understand that they are cheaper in the long run and offer an immediate option for a good massage.

Perhaps one of the most groundbreaking massage chairs available now is the Human Robotic Massage Recliner. This recliner is said to be the best at imitating human touch. By offering precise design and many comfort options, this is one of the most popular models available. Because of the advanced technology, these are also among the most expensive. This type of massage recliner chair can easily cost $2,000 and up.

Massage recliner chairs are similar to traditional recliners, except that they include electronic motors that cause the chair to either vibrate or massage. The chairs also have plastic rollers inside the backs and sides that vibrate, roll and massage the chair’s occupant. Some of the newest models are said to very closely emulate the hands on feel of a massage therapist.

Massage recliner chairs are available in several options. Perhaps the least expensive variety is an external massager that fits onto your existing recliner. These are usually comprised of several layers of fabric and mechanical workings and are available at nearly all department stores and health stores.

Mid-range products are appealing to those who do not want to spend thousands of dollars on a massage recliner chair. These models are equipped with internal massage components and can target different areas of the body. Some of the ones on the lower end of the price spectrum only offer a vibrating affect without this kind of specialization.

If you want to buy the highest quality massage recliner on the market, expect to dish out thousands of dollars. These chairs usually offer massage benefits to other parts of the body rather than limiting to the neck or back. Some have compression managers that are designed to massage the legs, feet, arms and shoulders. Some of the most advanced models can offer a diagnosis of tension zones and offer a custom massage.

A Guide to Recliner Slip Covers

Your recliner has been a faithful and loyal friend. You’ve spent many hours sitting in it, reclining in it, resting in it. You can’t even count the number of times you’ve fallen asleep in your recliner while watching television. It has been part of the family. When you were down, it silently offered a bit of comfort. Now, you fear you’ll have to part with it. It has gotten old and out-of-date. Its fabric is no longer bright and beautiful. Plus, you’ve redecorated the living room and the recliner sticks out like a sore thumb! Oh sure, it still feels good, but its looks leave a lot to be desired. Don’t worry; you do not have to get rid of your old friend. Just renovate it. Make the old new again. Buy a new recliner slipcover.

Recliner slipcovers are fabrics specially cut and sewn to fit over reclining chairs. They simply fit snugly over your existing material to give you a whole new look. It’s like an instant facelift for the entire room. Visitors will not even know you’ve covered your chair—it will look like a whole new recliner!

Recliner slipcovers generally cost under $100 – or much less if you find one on sale or at a discount store. That’s merely a fraction of the cost of a whole new recliner.

When shopping for recliner slipcovers, pay careful attention to the material. Your recliner gets a lot of use, and it needs a fabric that can handle that. It also moves and bends a lot, so the material must be able to withstand that. Stretch denim, cable knit, velour, chenille, and most elasticized fabrics are good choices.

If your recliner feels great but looks terrible, don’t buy a new one. Consider a recliner slipcover instead. This way, you get a “new” recliner, without the new recliner price.

Slip Covers provides detailed information about sofa, futon, chair, and recliner slip covers, plus custom and discount slip covers, and advice on how to make a slip cover. Slip Covers is the sister site of Duvet Covers Web.

Child Recliner and Adult Recliner Differences

Child size recliners chairs are a great gift. They let little ones, usually from the ages of 2 to 9, feel like they have their own spot in the family room. They get to relax and recline just like Mom and Dad or Grandpa.

These recliners are built on a smaller scale and usually do not have the same reclining mechanism that an adult recliner has. Many adult recliners have spring loaded reclining systems that are operated by a handle that protrudes from the right hand side of the chair. Pulling back on the handle and leaning back in the chair causes the mechanism recline. Child recliners generally do not have such a mechanism.

The child recliner mechanism functions in conjunction with the footrest. The child, or an adult if the child is very small, must pull up the footrest from the bottom. Pulling up the footrest causes the recliner to lay back. Kids are very nimble, probably more so than Grandpa J, and usually have no problem climbing in and out of the recliner even when it stays in it’s reclined position. Bigger kids will be able to recline and sit up in the recliner simply by pushing their backs against the seat back. They will be able to get up by sitting forward and pushing down on the footrest.

To my knowledge all child recliners work in this manner. Manufacturers tell us that the lever mechanisms aren’t currently made for small chairs and that they would increase shipping costs due to the need for larger boxes. If you find one with a handle mechanism, please let me know! craig@wcteam.com
